Looking Back at an Incredible Year

This year has brought so many wonderful moments to North Wales, from the bustling summer season that saw record numbers of families creating memories on our beautiful beaches to the cosy autumn evenings when The Goat's seasonal menus delighted guests with locally sourced Welsh lamb and fresh seafood from Conwy Bay. Every season has its own special story to tell.

The Esplanade has been at the heart of it all. From our seafront windows, we've watched children build sandcastles on the beach, hosted wedding celebrations that danced into the early hours, and welcomed travellers from across the globe who came to discover the magic of Christmas in Llandudno.

Llandudno's Highlights of 2025

Our wonderful town has truly shone this year. The Great Orme Tramway celebrated another successful season, carrying thousands of visitors to breathtaking summit views. Venue Cymru brought world-class entertainment to our doorstep, from touring West End shows to local talent that made us proud to call North Wales home.

The Victorian Extravaganza in May transformed our streets into a time machine, with penny-farthings rolling past The Esplanade while our guests enjoyed the spectacle from our sun terrace. Summer brought the return of the traditional Punch and Judy shows, keeping centuries-old traditions alive for new generations.

Perhaps most exciting was the renovation of the historic pier pavilion, bringing new life to this treasured landmark. Watching the sunset from the pier remains one of life's simple pleasures, especially with fish and chips in hand.

Celebrating Our Guests and Team

At The Esplanade Hotel, we've been privileged to be part of your special moments throughout 2025. From anniversary dinners in The Goat to family reunions in our comfortable lounges, your stories have become part of our story.

Our dedicated team has gone above and beyond this year. Whether it was surprising a young guest with a birthday cake, helping plan the perfect proposal on the promenade, or simply recommending the best walking routes around the Great Orme, their warmth and Welsh hospitality have made The Esplanade feel like a home away from home.

The Goat's Culinary Journey

The Goat seasonal menus have been a particular source of pride this year. Our chefs have embraced the bounty of North Wales, creating dishes that celebrate our local producers. Each menu tells the story of our region's incredible larder, from spring lamb to summer crab, autumn game to winter comfort foods.

The Christmas menu has been especially popular, with traditional Welsh favourites alongside contemporary creations. Nothing says Christmas in Llandudno quite like enjoying a festive feast while watching the winter waves crash against the promenade.

Looking Forward to the New Year

As we prepare to welcome the New Year, The Esplanade is excited about what 2026 will bring. We have excellent plans in development, from room refurbishments that blend Victorian elegance with modern comfort, to new experiences that will help our guests discover hidden corners of Llandudno.
